A coal train exits one of the Hatfield Tunnels and crosses the Tug River back into W.Va.

194, after a three hour wait in Williamson due to malfunctioning signal lights, finally bursts through one of the double tunnels at Hatfield.

On a foggy morning, eastbound 18M passes the famous buildings of "downtown" Matewan.

After running into Williamson with loads off the Wayne branch with the symbol J13 in the morning the now resymboled 864 heads east out of Hatfeild Tunnel

N&W's slug sets were among the most interesting facets of railroading on the Pokey. Here, two of them lead a train of loads towards the main, outside of historic Matewan.
