Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr meets a UP coal train at East Midvale, Utah. The train was running along frosty ties about four hours behind schedule.

The crew is changed on the eastbound California Zephyr, just in from a detour through Wyoming.

Amtrak's California Zephyr is running ahead of schedule on its arrival at Martinez, California behind AMD-103/P42-9 140 on June 27.

Amtrak's San Francisco Zephyr had GP40X 9003. Amtrak F40PH 234 on Pioneer. DRGW was still operating the Rio Grande Zephyr in Colorado to SLC, but only for a few more days.
