Here is a first look of the recently modifed Glen Alum Tunnel. Looks like progress has butched history again. This was done as part of the Heartland Corridor Project.
Double greens at Glen Alum under a full moon. 234 knocks down the signal on main 1. The green on track 2 is for 218 which will go around 234 at Panther.
The silence of the night is broken by this passing train on a very remote strech of the Pokey.
From green to red under the new signals, a grain train is shown weaving from Main 1 to Main 2 due to work just east at Panther. The rugged Tug Fork river is just to the right.
Westbound with DPUs still attached, NS 891 streaks thru Glen Alum tunnel. Dogwoods provide a touch of white above the portal along this remote and underestimated stretch of the Pokey.
