After years of local service around Waukegan, the last J geep is in charge on the old Long West as it stops traffic in downtown Plainfield on its journey from Spaulding to Joliet.
EJ&E 703, the only GP38-2 on the system and also one of the three J-Balls, leads the N21 south through Crest Hill.

The 703 runs along Pershing Rd at the end of a long day. The CN applied sill stripe is ok, but I think I prefer the yellow and white hash marks instead.
