The sand rack in Santa Fe's facility in Pueblo, Colorado, plays host to U23B 6315 on August 28th, 1973. This engine was built by General Electric in August 1970 - just three years earlier.
L&N got its first U23Bs thru a merger with Monon. These came with AAR trucks and were the only ones on L&N that were so equipped. This one is wearing its third paint job and has a third owner.
