Destined for warmer climates, Amtrak's California bound Southwest Chief dashes through blizzard conditions as snow quickly accumulates on a brutally cold winter afternoon.

After stopping in Las Vegas, Amtrak #3 splits the semaphore signals just outside of town as it makes it's way to the west coast.
