The crew on this extra grain empty is briefly blinded by the setting sun as their standard cab Dash 8 emerges from the long shadows of Northwestern Illinois’ rolling terrain.

It's snowing fast and furious as three Dash 8's descend the Minntac Sub with roughly 15 thousand tons of taconite pellets heading for Two Harbors, MN.

Hot iron ore pellets continue their trip down to CN's yard and dock facilities at Two Harbors, MN on the shore of Lake Superior.

Mud and stick season is evident as a trio of Dash 8's make their way north at the Ramshaw diamond continuing up to the U.S. Steel Minntac plant for loading.
