Well, always hold out hope. The Chargers have not quite sealed the deal in Silver Service. Not only are the P42's not going away, they are being repainted!

Amtrak's "Day One" Charger leads "The Floridian" over Lake Monroe. This is actually running on "Silver Star" schedule.

Amtrak has been throwing some unusual sets in Florida service lately.

Every so often, CSXT runs "the traditional way" to the Orlando area.

We take the GE a little more seriously now that Chargers have essentially replaced them, even better when a special one shows up.

Don't know what you've got, as they say....the novelty on these models has already worn off, but they appear to be in Silver Service for good.

While the new Chargers are daily sights elsewhere on Amtrak trains, this is the first pair to lead without assistance in Florida, seen on the northbound run from Miami.
