In January 2020, Nexus ordered 42 new METRO trains from Stadler (4 more later) for a complete fleet renewal on the Tyne and Wear Metro network serving Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Sunderland in Tyne and Wear in the United Kingdom. One of the new 5-car train on standard gauge and for 1500 V DC from the overhead wire, 555 # 029, is standing in St.Margrethen. The new 60 meter long trains have a starting acceleration, gross of 1.35 m / s² and a maximum velocity of 80 km/h. The maximum capacity is up to 600 seated and standing.
