Shoving a batch of covered hoppers into the AGP Processing elevator is Iowa Traction Railway Company 50-Ton Steeplecab 50. Built in October 1920 by Baldwin-Westinghouse, this electric locomotive is 104-years-old (well, technically 103 years and 9 months … but who’s quibbling?) and still going strong. Heck, this locomotive has outlived it builder! And a locomotive doesn’t get to be this age without some lineage, and IATR 50 is ex-Iowa Terminal 50 (1963-1987), ex-Kansas City Kaw Valley & Western 507 (1956-1963), ex-Cedar Rapids & Iowa City 58 (1948-1956), originally Washington & Old Dominion 50 (1920-1948).
