Remarks & Notes |
A bit of a historical photo with this one. The first Intermodal train out of Salt Lake Garfield and Western new intermodal yard. BNSF is to haul the trains over their track age rights west over the UP. Pretty much what I know is form a news story from trains magazine. The article says 5 trains a week. Union Pacific and BNSF are fighting over various issues. UP is resisting over providing that many crews in a short time. Then UP wants them to run directional over Donners and the Feather River. If BNSF is forced to go over Donners they have to pay UP. This original train took a week to get made. The bare tables came in 7-6-2025. On 7-11-2025 the train was back out onto the Wye pictured here. The crew was taken off Friday evening. The train was then taken into Roper at some point. From the information I gather it departed Roper 7-12-2025 around midday. I was under the Provo to Stockton train. |
