Remarks & Notes
The steam locomotive Ed 3/3 # 3 with the name LANGNAU, built in 1881 by SLM for the Emmental Railway, belongs to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne and the Dr. Ernst Dübi Foundation. For the celebration of 150 years of the Emmental Railway, the locomotive was loaned to the Bern Steam Railway Association (DBB) for 5 years. In January 2025, the locomotive was transported by road from the Rain depot to the Emmental. Since then, the locomotive has been restored to working order in Konolfingen with large commitment, mainly by the three young steam enthusiasts Kim, Marco and Michael, and was a great success at the anniversary event in Emmental on the weekend of 17/18 May when it was used in front of special trains. As the locomotive does not have an air brake, but only a hand brake, it was not allowed to run in front of a train, but as a second locomotive. Marco in the driver's cab drives the locomotive in front of the depot of the Extrazug.ch association in Langnau, where it can be admired by the numerous visitors.
