| Staten Islanders at St. George.
Two Staten Island Railway (SIR) trains are seen at the St. George Terminal awaiting their turns to run to Tottenville. At left is the newest member of the railway's revenue fleet, R211S trainset 100-104, which has been in service on the island for less than a week. At right is veteran R44 car 454, one of 52 cars built for SIR by the St. Louis Car Co. in 1971-1973. The entire R44 fleet is slated to be replaced by the R211S cars in the next few years. |
