Remarks & Notes
An empty Montana Rail Link ballast train departs Logan, Montana, on the railroad’s Fifth Subdivision on October 3, 2022. In the background, MRL’s 844 Logan local waits for the train to clear before it can continue switching its train together. Above the SD70ACes is MRL’s Second Subdivision main line bridge over the Gallatin River. The ballast train, powered by EMD SD70ACe Nos. 4309 and 4405 is entering MRL’s Fifth Subdivision to Whitehall, where the train will continue up the Spire Rock Industrial Track to the loader located on the former main line to Butte at Spire Rock.
