As a BNSF manifest freight drops down the 2.2 percent grade out of Weed, Montana and though the large cut through Iron Ridge, a westbound BNSF Q train climbs up out of Austin in the background on July 4, 2021. The head end of both trains will soon meet and are taking advantage of this more than 4 mile section of double track that Montana Rail Link created when they moved the west switch of Austin siding up the hill to Weed.
