A westbound auto train out of Gibson yard in Chicago, IL, slows up at Nelson to meet an eastbound ethanol train. The overnight low was around -4, and traffic is moving slow this morning with the cold weather. This train had air issues around Dekalb, but is now back on the move. The train is seen here passing thru the NQ control point. Old-ex-CNW style signals are still in place controlling traffic in 2021. The train is 35 miles from Clinton and the next crew change point.
