| A vesuvian-like smoke plume rises into the air above Groff's Grove as Strasburg Rail Road decapod #90 reminds the photographers just how powerful a steam locomotive truly is. Our conductor for the day asked our group prior to this photo, and I paraphrase: "Would you all like to see a Groff's Grove takeoff?"
You can be sure our answer was a hearty "Yes!".
This photo was taken on October 18, 2020 as part of a photo charter celebrating the SRC's 60th anniversary celebration in which SRC #90 was backdated to its 1960s retro livery. |
