The engineer on Santa Fe bicentennial 5704 is working in helper service, assisting a Union Pacific coal train down Cajon Pass at Verdemont. A lot of time the Santa Fe bicentennial units would be leading one of the hot intermodal train, so to see one in helper service on a Union Pacific train was a rather rare sight.
