Amtrak Pacific Surfliner number 1573, heading from San Diego to Los Angeles, rounds the curve as it crosses State College Avenue in Anaheim, California, on October 28, 2018. Change is in the air, as this train is powered by a pair of new Siemens "Charger" SC-44 locomotives: CDTX 2110 on the front, and CDTX 2109 on the rear. These are the only two "Surfliner" "Chargers" that do not have blue on the rear of the sides or rear. (Behind CDTX 2110 is Amtrak 90208, one of the carrier's Non-Powered Control Units - an old F40PH diesel converted to a non-powered cab car and baggage car combination, and painted to honor America's military veterans.)
