A westbound local wiii set out a gon in the siding at Cumbres Pass on a dreary day, take water and proceed to Chama. The old K27 is fitted with a misnumbered phony headlight used on an earlier movie shoot. Well, in reality it’s a rent-a-freight and the crew, all trained and qualified, have paid big bucks to run the train for several days recreating olden days. I can’t imagine anyone ever wanting that hideous headlight installed but there’s no accounting for taste. Maybe my little story about it actually occurred. Still not sufficient reason!
