Remarks & Notes

The drip strip over the cab window and the AAR trucks indicate that this Conrail C430 is of Reading lineage, as opposed to the former New York Central units, which had Alco’s Hi-Ad trucks. Conrail’s ten ex-NYC and two ex-RDG C430’s were 75% of Alco’s entire production of the model.
