On May 19, 2015, an EMD HTCR-II truck used under a SD70M locomotive is in the process of being rebuilt in the truck shop at Union Pacific’s Downing B. Jenks locomotive shop at North Little Rock, Arkansas. Two machinists have finished up much of the rebuild work on the bottom of the truck while it was upside down on blocks. They are now in the process of using the overhead crane to flip the truck back to a normal position to finish up reassembling parts that are located on the upper portion of the truck. Flipping the truck like this makes access for rebuilding easier.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
