Remarks & Notes
January 3rd brought a friend and I to the Bessemer in anticipation of seeing the 867 lead North. It had been in the power set for the ore train for a number of days, so chances seemed pretty good of seeing it. Upon arrival to Greenville the crew had to take the 905 up to Sandy (KO) to pick up a shop car that was set out the day before. When they got back into Greenville they were moving about in the yard for about 2 hours or so. When it came time to take the empty train North we heard "Brakes applied 867". Then the 867 chatter disappeared, and soon it was replaced with 905. When they rounded the corner at the end of the yard, lone behold they stuck 905 in front of the 867. It's not what we wanted, but in this day and age I will take what I can get. Back to the photo, 905 eases downgrade into the harbor at Conneaut, about to duck under the CSX Erie West Subdivision.
