Remarks & Notes |
An unusual load appeared today on the Union Pacific's Brooklyn Subdivision in the form of former Yreka Western 19. Despite this being a rare ride for the former McCloud engine, it certainly is not the steamer's first visit to the beaver state. The 19 could be seen in the seventies and early eighties pulling excursions out of Cottage Grove for the Oregon Pacific & Eastern, which is where it got its movie fame in both Emperor of the North and Stand By Me. Though Shack's train will live to be fired up another day in the future, it will most likely be in the state of Ohio at its ultimate destination: Jerry Jacobson's Age of Steam Roundhouse. |
