Remarks & Notes
A fast eastbound Rio Grande train with TOFC/COFC and autoracks has just crested Thompson Hill east of Thompson, Utah, in July 1984. EMD SD45 No. 5319 leads three GP40s as power for the train that is obediently trailed by a grimy Grande gold caboose. Rio Grande is famous for short, fast freights—especially impressive flying across the Utah desert.
