| Northern Explorer passes through Levin bound for Auckland. The 420-mile (680Km) journey between the capital and Auckland takes approx 11 hours and is popular with tourists. The train was built by Hillside Engineering in Dunedin (the same works that produced the last locomotives built in New Zealand.) |
