| "This Is West Virginia Railroading" - And we about froze to death waiting to capture this moment. My friend Matt and I hiked in and stood here waiting for hours for the Beech Mountain Railroad to return from the mine with loads. Our fingers and toes had stopped responding and were turning blue, and the snow was piling up fast. But as we heard the all too familiar sound of flanges squealing and the burble of an Alco, all was well and the painful wait was more than worth it. |
