| Time on the high iron is almost up for this pair of 2-8-0's, #3583 and sister #559 at the west throat of Thorndale, halfway between Philly and Lancaster. These locos were used as helpers to assist eastbound freights over a stiff grade enroute to Philadelphia. PRR Class L1s. |
