A veteran from the good old days of the N&W proudly stands guard just north of Boones Mill at 3:48 AM on 3/10/2010, during the last two months of its long career of governing train movements on the Winston line. This was the first intermediate north of the control point at Boones Mill, on the way to Starkey. I hate to see the old signals go, but I'm glad to see NS spending millions to improve their railroad at the same time.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
