Hidden Away in Framingham
A recently rebuilt F40PH-4C sits on the rarely-used Holliston Industrial Track, all that remains of the Boston and Albany's line from Framingham to Milford, MA. This land was formerly used by General Motors' Framingham Assembly plant, but is now used by CSX to store cars. Today, RSTX 1005, the 3rd of 6 remanufactured F40s being leased by the MBTA, is parked here, interestingly with no paint, unlike the two units that came before it. I'm still not entirely sure why CSX chose to park it here before interchanging it to the MBTA, but if I had to guess, it was done in order to prevent this rolling blank canvas from getting vandalized.
