The Cedar River needed the CN 5409 for horsepower, so it didn't go on 338 for Dubuque. It was needed due to tonnage on an 80-car L575. The Cedar River died on the Osage Sub Friday with no 2nd crew to bring power back to Waterloo. Now in Cedar Rapids, the 5417 was dead-tested on Saturday night, and there was no 5409 for replacement. The only choice Saturday night was to run L565's power to CR and 5417 to Dubuque. On Sunday, there is no L567, so on Monday, an extra 567 rolls out of Cedar Rapids with the normal Dubuque local power heading to Manchester. Being that this is rare, I got the IANR 4101 on the CR Sub. Here L567 is now out of Louisa after their work and crosses the Dry Creek near Robins. This power went back to Dubuque Monday night, and both units went bad. It's amazing how some things work out to make power go to a certain train.
