Over the summer, NS SD70ACe #1080 was given a special heritage paint scheme in the style of the Delaware and Hudson's "Lightning Stripe" livery. The D&H is one of Norfolk Southern's more recent predecessors, acquired in 2015 through its purchase of Canadian Pacific's trackage between Sunbury, PA, Binghamton, NY, and Schenectady, NY. Before becoming one of the most popular engines on Norfolk Southern's fleet, 1080 spent multiple years in long-term storage in Altoona, PA. Since its reentry into service in June, 1080 has had its fair share of mechanical issues, including but not limited to electrical issues, cab signal issues, and even a broken horn. 6 months later, 1080 finds itself back at the Juniata shops, this time due to ground relay issues, causing it to not load properly.
