Before the new X rot mt # 95403 and # 95404 snow blowers from Zaugg could be used on the Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway from 2012, which can clear the track to a width of up to 6 meters by moving the blower units sideways, the snow channel had to be widened with a so-called "Räumer" (“snow scratcher”). The Xk # 9132 vehicle was built by the RhB itself in 1936 as X # 1002 on the undercarriage of a freight car of 1908. The two extendable side plows pulled the snow from both sides onto the track so that the following snow blower could then throw it out. Here, the vehicle pulled by a locomotive, in this case the ABe 4/4 # 46 railcar, can be seen with its plows extended in Ospizio Bernina. Since a conversion in 1974, the snow plows can be controlled hydraulically from the driver's cab of the pulling railcar.
