In 2019, the Turkish company Körfez Ulastirma ordered seven EuroDual locomotives from StadlerRail, with the first ones delivered in 2021.
EURODUAL are 123 ton Co-Co bi-mode and they are the first bi-mode locomotives in Turkey. Körfez Ulastirma use them in freight transport services combining both 25 kV AC electric and diesel operating modes on lines with high gradients, where strong traction force is required. One of the locomotives was severely damaged in a derailment and Stadler Service in Switzerland repaired it. Now, locomotive HB # 83504 (90 75 9000 081-2 TR-KUAS), which was put back on its bogies at the St. Margrethen plant, has been picked up for transfer to Turkey.
