A pair of SF Municipal Railway painted PCCs tie down at Ferry Plaza on the F Market. Road closures further up the Embarcadero required PCCs to use the Ferry Plaza turnaround on this afternoon.
1006 is an original SF double ended car, 1051 is a single ended car originally from Philadelphia. Car #1051 is named in honor of the late Harvey Milk, a former member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors who, in addition to being one of the first openly gay elected officials in the US, was a strong proponent of public transit. Milk commuted to city hall daily via transit.
