Southbound CSX train C345-26 crosses the new bridge over the Nolichucky River at Poplar, North Carolina this afternoon. This past week marked the official reopening of the Blue Ridge Subdivision between Erwin and Spruce Pine, after over 40 miles of track was put out of service and completely rebuilt from flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. The sheer undertaking of this rebuild, from the ground up in many places, is truly incredible to see.
