| U248 stops at South Thermal to shuffle the middle engine out of the consist of the ballast train in the siding. The U248 ran from Bostic to Minpro, near Spruce Pine, to work 2 customers. A relief crew took over at Minpro and took the train to Erwin. The power was turned and positioned at Erwin to lead a southbound later this week to officially reopen the Blue Ridge Sub after Hurricane Helene and the flooding of the Nolichucky and Toe Rivers severely damaged the line. |
