| Highline
A northbound BNSF manifest climbs the 1.5% grade of the High Line. The grade will soon flatten for a few miles before increasing to 2.2%. The Dixie Fire left a twisted burnt mess but nature is already starting to add green to the landscape. The Highline was completed in 1931 as new competitive line for north-south traffic along the Pacific Coast. The line built by the GN and WP is now the main north-south route for the BNSF in the western part of the United States. |
