Hankyu Railway has over a century of history from two railway lines opened in 1910. By developing lands surrounding the railway and a variety of businesses, Hankyu now operates three main trunk lines and several branches, which connect Osaka with Kobe, Takarazuka, and Kyoto. Over the last 50 years, the maroon has been the standard livery of the train fleet, thus becoming the symbol of Hankyu.
