With the technology of the Shinkansen from Japan, the CRH2 has developed several variants. While introducing CRH2C, which operates at 350km/h, one of the units has a re-designed nose profile. The new design was later re-classified as CRH380A, meaning the train could reach 380km/h. The train has entered service in 2010 with the formation of 8/16 carriages.
