Ex-New Zealand Government Railways Hillside Workshops built Ww class 4-6-4T 480 stands at Shakespeare Road on the Glenbrook Vintage Railway, on 24th March 2024. Passengers are able to alight the train here so as to observe the train making a run-past. Quite a good location to do so as the line climbs at 1 in 50.
Railway Enthusiasts Society has operated rail excursions around NZ since 1958, some steam hauled using rolling stock from Glenbrook Vintage Railway which it established in 1970's near Auckland. See www.railfan.org.nz
