LIRR Goes To The Movies. On January 31, 2013, morning commuters noticed a change to the MTA Long Island Rail Road Bayside Station in Bayside, Queens, New York. Signs informing passengers of their arrival at "Domodedovo Airport" and schedule information of the "C.C.C.P. People's Comissariat Of Communications" covered the usual MTA signage. The exterior was changed to "Falls Church Station with period appropriate automobiles. It was all done for the TV show "The Americans" Season 1, Episode 7 "Duty and Honor" and had been advertised in local newspapers in advance as most of the areas remained open to the public. The show was on the air from 2013-2018, and did a lot of railroad related scenes, including filming on location on the LIRR, MTA Metro-North Railroad, and Amtrak.
