First Day At Croton Harmon. From November 20-21, 2023, an Amtrak ALC-42 Cab Signal Interference Test Train operated on the Northeast Corridor and Hudson Lines. While these locomotives are not planned for service on the routes, Amtrak is making sure that they can properly operate wherever they may be needed. Making the train even more interesting than the Phase VII painted ALC-42s was the appearance of AMTK 301 in its "First Day" paint scheme, only the second locomotive to be painted this way after EMD E8 4316 made its debut with Amtrak on May 1, 1971.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
