This General Electric 80 Ton diesel was built in July 1940 by General Electric as United States Navy 65-00430, working in San Diego CA. In the 1960s it was sold to Pfizer, which renumbered it 2 and assigned to their Groton CT facility. Pfizer donated number 2 to Kentucky's Fredonia Valley Railroad, and the FVRR sold the locomotive to the Valley Railroad. 83 years later, it was photographed as part of the Valley Railroad's roster of GE 80 Ton diesels, numbered VALE 0901.
