| Who knew "heritage cabooses" would become a thing? Conrail management has seen fit to repaint a second caboose. This one is perhaps more significant than 22137 which was painted earlier in 2023. 21241 is one of 113 N-21 class cars built by Fruit Growers Express at Alexandria, VA in the late 1970s. These were the only cabooses that were built new for Conrail. All others were "inherited" from predecessor railroads. 21241 was painted and decaled in Metuchen Yard, where it is seen spending a quiet weekend. Those contracted to do this work have done an excellent job on both cars. |
