During the early morning hours of October 11th, 2023, the first Kawasaki built MTA Staten Island Railway R211S, SIR 100, makes its way through the dark streets of Brooklyn, NY (60th Street & 6th Avenue) as it heads to its permanent home of Staten Island by way of MRI USA Inc flatbed truck. The 5-car R211S pilot set (SIR 100-104) performed several initial tests on the New York City Transit system and once on the island, will perform similar tests before entering revenue service.
