MTA Rail Meetup.
Metro-North Railroad M8 car no. 9420 (Kawasaki, 2011) is seen with a train of five other cars at the LIRR Arch St Shop in Long Island City, Queens. The trainset had ventured to the other MTA railroad's territory for testing related to the upcoming Penn Access project, which will see New Haven Line trains run via the Hell Gate Bridge to Penn Station. This was a rare instance where Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road trains could be photographed together, and the great timing of a New York City Transit Authority 7 train curving through at far right made it even rarer to have all three MTA rail agencies in one photo!
