BN F9A no. 840 (Northern Pacific heritage) idles outside the wood engine house at Wishram, WA, the former SP&S crew change location between Pasco and Vancouver, WA. Immediately west of Wishram the Oregon Trunk line branches off and heads to California. The F units were common in freight service on various Washington state BN lines until the early 1980s.
