Back in the early 1980s when I was at George Washington University, I discovered that on Sundays the parking lot for the GSA building on Virginia Avenue was left open and I could just park there and climb over the guard rail to the railroad tracks. Then I'd hang out for a few hours and wait for trains. Suspect if anyone tried that today they'd spend a night in jail. On October 18, 1980, I shot Baltimore & Ohio #97 coming out of Potomac Yard, over the Potomac River, and into DC. GP40-2 #4147 led a seven GEEP consist.
