On The Surfline. On August 20, 2017, Amtrak/Amtrak California Train 768 carried the former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) on the back of the train just before the trailing F59PHI, seen passing through San Clemente, California while paralleling N El Camino Real. This stretch of railroad is known for its beautiful views because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. When PVs (private varnish) travel between Los Angeles and San Diego, California, they can be placed mid-consist or trailing, depending on the circumstances of the move.
